Alternatives North has provided comments to the territorial government on its draft energy strategy.
In addition to providing comments on the draft strategy, the letter calls on the GNWT to do two things:
1. Replace the current “silo” approach, which is clearly not working, and give ENR the authority and resources it needs to take the lead on energy and climate change policy.
2. Create an advisory committee or committees made up of representatives from all energy sectors to support the GNWT as it allocates the revenue from the Pan Canadian Framework and Carbon Tax.
